Current Research

My current research interest focuses on waterfowl migration with a particular interest in the behavioral and hormonal differences in the migration strategies the blue-winged ducks and other dabbling ducks that are closely related. These include Blue-Winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, and Green-Winged Teal. These species represent two very distinct migratory strategies in closely related species.

I am also interested in how hunting pressure and habitat quality influence hormonal secretions and behavior that might shape habitat selection in wintering dabbling ducks.
